Here are some dragonfly pictures taken on different days in October near Sabino Creek.
I am learning that dragonflies can be hard to identify.

Flame Skimmer? |

Neon Skimmer? |

Some kind of damselfly...a spreadwing maybe? |
However, this
filigree skimmer was easy for me to name since Chris at
Las Adventuras had already done the work of identifying one like it for his blog.

Filigree Skimmer |
With wings resembling skeletonized leaves, it seems the filigree skimmer has the perfect camouflage for this wooded area.
And finally, this large dragonfly that landed on a boulder might be a serpent ringtail...perhaps.
Well, no matter what they're called, I think dragonflies are cute!
